BIOFLOW HORSE RUG
SETTLING HORSES BEFORE
RACES
I have been using my Bioflow Blanket for 3 years now. I have
found it to be very useful in settling horses down before
races. It has been very effective on horses with sore
muscles, tie ups and horses with sore backs. It really helps
with circulation - you can feel the horse warming up through
the blanket.
I especially like the fact that it is light weight and has no
wires attached to it. I have seen many different types and
like this one for its durability. Also it is very easy to
clean.

PONY WITH
SOLID BILATERAL LUMP
During Summer 2007 my 36 year old Show Hunter pony suffered
from a solid bilateral lump at the position of her deep
cervical lymph nodes, close to her larynx.
The lump was large (around the size of a tennis ball) and was
well established, forming over a two month period.
There was No heat in it, or around the area; the lump did not
hinder respiration or feeding and the mare was in otherwise
good condition for her age.
My mare wore a Bioflow rug for an hour per day for a week in
conjunction with general body massage to promote relaxation.
The lump began to reduce and
within a further week had completely gone. I believe that the
use of the Bioflow rug in conjunction with the massage were
instrumental in her recovery. There has been no recurrence of
the lump to date.
I am a qualified Equine Therapist and a new Bioflow
Distributor and having seen such amazing results first-hand
believe that Bioflow magnotherapy products
hold great advantages either when used alone or in conjunction
with other Natural Health Therapies.

BIOFLOW HORSE
BOOTS
MARE WITH
SUSPENSORY LIGAMENT INJURY
The
injury occurred in February 2006.
The Vet was
called out to examine the horse as she was showing lameness in
offside foreleg (right).
The Vet
suspected a suspensory ligament. He took a scan to examine the
foreleg to confirm; because of the type of injury the horse
was immediately on box rest (confined to stable).
This type of
injury requires support usually in the form of bandaging, and
possible cold treatment to help to reduce inflammation and
medication in forms of creams / orally depending on the vet.
Having just
acquired a pair of Bioflow magnotherapy boots for an arthritic
horse that we own, we decided to try them on the horse with
the suspensory injury because of the reputation of Bioflow
helping circulation. Increased circulation to the area would
improve healing and repair, and take away bruising and toxins
= oxygen + nutrients.
The vet returned
for the next scan, which shows a still picture so the extent
and location of the injury can be seen. To the vet’s amazement
the scan showed a positive blood flow to the tear of the
suspensory – a positive result.
Three
months later the horse still wears the boots, but only during
the day. She is being turned out and seems happier in herself.
Her trotting is sound and she will be starting some in-hand
walking to tone and start strengthening in the near future. In
a further three months the vet will probably re-examine for
complete recovery.

BIOFLOW HORSE
RUG
HORSE WITH
TRAPPED NERVE
A horse was
receiving sports massage for a trapped nerve in the neck. The
sports masseur advised to try the Bioflow magnotherapy rug to
complement the massage therapy. The horse had the rug on for ˝
hour before exercise / training, followed by the stretching
plan, followed by massage, followed by exercise / training
followed by a further ˝ hour with the rug.
This daily
intensive aftercare programme continued for about two weeks.
The sports
masseur understands and uses magnotherapy so wanted the rug to
warm up the tissues so that the horse would co-operate and
actually stretch a greater distance to make the horse more
flexible and supple. Also to improve recovery time for repair.
Once the
horse had worn the rug for ˝ hour, when it was removed, there
was sweat on the shoulder area where the magnets had been.
This is an indication of a lot of activity from the many
magnets which drew circulation to the area. Hence stretches
were applied and the horse became more obliging by the end of
the week. The end result was the horse could be exercised
without any problems.
The horse would
also get upset very easily so there was a great deal of
tension due to the trapped nerve – before treatment the horse
reared and spun around to nap away from pain. The horse had
been unsaleable in that condition, but has since been sold.

RUG
PSYCHOLOGICALLY & PHYSICALLY DISTURBED HORSE
Five year old Arab, ex racehorse, just come off track. He was
gelded but there were complications as a sarcoid was found
inside his sheath. A further operation was therefore
performed.
The horse was then brought to us, looking like a hat-rack,
sad, depressed, all skin and bone. This was before we became
aware of equine magnotherapy products.
The horse was put through a full M.O.T.
-
Vet examination – 5 star-passed except for infection from
the operation as the owner had put the horse out into a
muddy field.
-
Worming programme.
-
Teeth. Some hooks found but nothing major.
-
Back and Sports Therapist. Some issues found needing further
attention.
-
Feeding. Slowly built up including homeopathic remedies
including echinecea to boost immune system especially.
-
The horse had a reasonable conformation except for what we
called “upside down neck” (U) and broken muscle tissue at
the top of the muscles of the neck behind the poll.
-
Lots of groundwork on side and long reins.
Overall the horse was feeling better and stronger but had
still not discovered himself and his personality. He was like
a shell.
He was worked with a rider, but it seemed that there was a
psychological block. He was extremely unsettled, and would
scoot off and grunt. The rider could get no work done and
could make no progress.
Then we introduced the Bioflow magnotherapy rug to the horse
before incorporating it into his training programme. He wore
the rug for half an hour a day for a week and looked more
chilled out and his facial expression and body were more
relaxed.
It was time to ride the horse. Again the rug was worn for half
an hour before saddling up and being taken to the arena. He
stood at the mounting block without the usual fidgeting.
It was like the horse had been changed. He still had an
occasional spook but he eventually tuned into the rider and
they worked in harmony. After exercise he wore the rug whilst
cooling off.
The rug was used for the following week, then left off for a
week. By the third day he had reverted to his old
uncooperative self.
For the final week he calmed down again and had a competition
at the end, remaining in harmony with the rider. He travelled
wearing the rug and did not sweat as many horses do. The
theory is to chill his mind, against the stress and excitement
of going somewhere strange in the horsebox.
The horse was a little on edge before entering the arena but
completed his test which was amazing considering his
background. Again afterwards he wore the rug to cool his
muscles and chill his mind.
This prevented side effects like tying up. Working on the
circulation it will aid the dispersal of waste and lactic acid
build up in the tissues when they have worked hard, and bring
oxygen and nutrients to feed the tissues.
This has been the most dramatic change of all the horses on
which we have used the magnotherapy rug.
